ATLANTA, December 7, 2010 – Young Audiences, Woodruff Arts Center (YAWAC), Georgia’s leading provider of in-school arts-in-education programming, today announced that Kim Schuessler and Catherine Tabor have been elected to the organizations’ governing board of directors.
“The addition of Kim and Catherine to YAWAC’s board of directors ensures that the organization will continue to benefit from a diversity of perspectives and experiences as we transform the lives and learning of young people through the arts by bringing local, professional artists and arts experiences to children in schools and community organization,” commented Virginia A. Hepner, interim executive director of Young Audiences, Woodruff Arts Center.
Schuessler is an artist whose paintings are exhibited at Atlanta’s Pryor Fine Art, and she previously served on YAWAC’s supporting board of directors. Tabor is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sparkfly, a marketing technology company that specializes in targeted mobile and social promotions. She was named one of Atlanta’s top female chief executive officers by Atlanta Woman Magazine. Tabor’s company has grown into an innovative leader in loyalty marketing with clients including The Coca-Cola Company, Aflac, Emory, and SunTrust.
“I am the mother of a four year old daughter and have witnessed first-hand the positive impact Young Audiences, Woodruff Arts Center makes through programs they provide to her school,” said Catherine Tabor. “I want to do what I can to ensure more children have the opportunity to experience these programs. It is up to the community to preserve the teaching of the arts in our schools and, I am proud to be a part of this wonderful group.”
