Introducing new programs and artists August 6, 2010
Young Audiences is excited to announce the addition of several new, exciting programs to our roster. Many of these programs were created through special funding from The Goizueta Foundation and were carefully designed to align directly with specific curriculum goals and state standards. Young Audiences, Woodruff Arts Center (YAWAC) has a new face on the Web! Our new website was redesigned with the needs of our users in mind. Students dedicate sculpture in memory of teacher’s son Gwinnett Daily Post, March 25, 2010 By Heather Darenberg, Staff Writer
Jeff Mather said he has always associated peace with stillness. The community-based public artist said a sculpture at North Gwinnett High School helped him develop another interpretation of peace. The 13-by-10 foot sculpture of a surfboard and a wave, titled “Peace,” contains a lot of movement.
“You have to actively work for peace,” said Mather, who guided the 35 students who created the sculpture. Read full article.
