Adam Battelsteins Storeography Residency  |  Pickleshoes

Matt and Emily Kent bring the vocabulary, physicality and choreography of the Storeography assembly performance right into the classroom where students will continue to solidify their understanding of the elements of stories as they discover their own unique and idiosyncratic styles of expressive movement. Elementary school students will focus on weight-sharing and balance exercises, collaborative choreography, improvisation and play. In middle school, the emphasis shifts to body awareness, building a positive self-image and learning to express one’s own opinion and respecting the contributions of others. By high school, students are ready to tackle intermediate to advanced dance partnering techniques and experiment with the choreographic process.
