Clay Tales - Stories through Clay  |  Roelna-Bashew

Through a combination of stories, clay and a little bit of dramatization, each student will create a three dimensional (air-dry or ceramic) art piece to celebrate a cultural holiday. Possible ideas could be but are not limited to Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Groundhog’s Day, Chinese New Year, Easter, Mothers Day, Presidents Day and Black History Month.

Roelna-Bashew

Roelna Bashew, a professional visual artist, was born and raised in South Africa where her career evolved from teacher to children’s TV writer and director. During the early 1990s, she relocated to America, bought a few bags of clay and began creating magic (telling stories in 3-D). Roelna now has her own studio –“roelna” – where she continues to create delightful sculptures in bronze and ceramics.
