Composition and Curriculum | Jason Pellett
Explore ways of approaching the creative process and the kinds of choices composers make by demystifying the process. Jason will guide student through the song writing journey by teaching them concepts of form, development of ideas, and justification of musical decision and he will tie these concepts to class curriculum.
Jason Pellett
Jason Pellett is an avid educator and performer. He can be heard playing lead trumpet with the best salsa bands in Atlanta and played some of the continent’s greatest venues touring North America for six years with the jazz quintet Adams Township. He has done studio work for the Cartoon Network and Interscope Records, can be heard on the soundtrack to the blockbuster movie Madea's Family Reunion, and is the former principal trumpet player of the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra. His teaching varies as much as his performing. He maintains an active private studio as well as presenting a variety of creative programs in schools ranging from assemblies and workshops to special music classes.
