Imagine being completely surrounded by grasshoppers, surviving a blizzard or confronting a pack of wolves. Laura Ingalls Wilder captured these scenes and more in her popular series of books based on her own family’s adventures during the Westward Expansion. In her portrayal of Laura, Holly reveals how an author combines imagination and personal experience to create compelling stories. Laura emerges as someone much like her own characters—strong, courageous and resourceful.
