Andy’s off-kilter sense of humor turns those pesky little parts of speech into an unforgettable language arts lesson. Students add their creativity to Andy’s musical know-how to produce spontaneous, fanciful and nonsensical songs about nouns, verbs and adjectives. Expect lots of requests for the song kids love and teachers fear—“The Jelly Song”!
Andy Offutt Irwin
Andy's silly putty voice, hilarious heartfelt songs, astounding narratives, and astonishing mouth noises, have made him one of the most adored touring storytellers in the United States.
An award-winning artist and educator, Irwin has appeared at venues such as the Library of Congress, National Storytelling Festival, and Walt Disney World. Four of his CD's have won Storytelling World awards, and two of his recordings have been named Best Storytelling Album from the Just Plain Folks Music Awards.
"A fiendishly clever union of Tom Lehrer's topicality... cut with Bobby McFerrin-style mouth music... good, quirky fun." ~ The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
