Poetry Off the Page | Marty Barrett & Pat Bell
|
This up-close and personal interactive program removes the fourth wall between the audience and actors as they work together to dramatize several poems. Using a variety of theatre styles and techniques, students explore figurative language and poetic elements in works by Emily Dickenson, Lewis Carroll, Paul Lawrence Dunbar and others. In the final Guess the Master contest, students are challenged to show what they know by guessing whether poems, metaphors and similes were authored by students or Carl Sandburg.
