She performs original poems as well as the work of noted artists such as Langston Hughes, Marie Evans, Countee Cullen, Etheridge Knight, Saul Williams, and others. Tasha engages students with poetry in a moving and memorable way.

Tasha Jones is an activist, poet, author, educator, lecturer, musician, motivational speaker, and the youngest Indiana Poet Laureate nominee. She is known as a virtuosic performer, with an acute ability to interlace complex threads with conventional wisdom. In her unique works, Jones brilliantly marries the art of storytelling to the audaciousness of Hip Hop which breeds Literature in full throttle. A prolific writer, Tasha Jones soothes the soul and heals the body with words that cleverly infuse everyday life experiences with literature to create works that empower.
