Shakespeare Said Not Read in the Head | Marty Barrett
|
Shakespeare wrote scripts for his actors to play and perform, not to read from high school textbooks. Marty unlocks the magic and meaning of the Bard by turning the classroom into a stage and the students into much more than “merely players.” This workshop addresses specific language arts standards including comprehension, familiarity with literary genres and texts and skill in oral expression. The “Seven Ages of Man” speech from As You Like It anchors the workshop, which culminates in a staged reading of the haunting of Richard III.
