Sapien captivates students with interesting cultural tidbits, wild and wonderful instruments and its award-winning original music. Students hear music from the ancient past and travel through time to learn about the traditional music of the Yanyuwa of Australia, the Zulu of South Africa, the Maya of Mexico and the many tribes of North America.

Sapien, led by Frank Chambless, is a diverse group of amazing musicians whose worldwide performances and travels have introduced them to the stories and traditional music of peoples across the globe.
The ensemble, which features wind, string, and percussion instruments from around the world, garnered a 1st round Grammy nomination, was chosen as a finalist in the Aquarian Voice New Age Music Awards for 'Best Contemporary Native American' Album of the Year, and has been featured on Public Radio International.
