The Jongleur Of Notre Dame  |  Ron Anglin: Quite a Catch

Ron offers a fresh interpretation of Anatole France’s 1892 tale about a young juggler turned monk whose only gift was his ability to juggle. Here, an unhappy little orphan boy named Jacques believes if only he could juggle fruit, people would give him money and he would finally smile. Students will see a variety of juggling routines involving shaker cups, spinning plates, the devil stick and box manipulation and participate in a French version of “Simon Says.” Like “The Little Drummer Boy” and Tomie dePaola’s The Clown of God, Ron’s adaptation is a heart-warming story about the power of simple gifts.

Ron Anglin: Quite a Catch

Ron Anglin, who lives in rural Molena, GA, once used juggling to help teach his high school classes and to improve his soccer and wrestling teams. He now uses a wide variety of props and skills to teach science, character education, and the importance of reading to all grades. He currently works for the Big Apple Circus Clown Care Program at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and for Cirque du Monde, the outreach program of Cirque du Soleil.

Ron has performed over 4200 times since 1999. He also works for Dakota Assemblies and National School Assemblies (24 states so far!) and will do a Midwest tour for them in 2011. His mission is to reach as many kids as possible and challenge them to try new things and develop a balanced brain!
