Twentieth Century Songbook | Wendy Bennett
|
Songs evoke memories of special times and places. Wendy leads the audience on a “sentimental journey” covering a hit parade of tunes from the early 1900’s right up to the present. Historical and political events, fashions, social customs and changing attitudes are viewed through the lens of popular music. Students may find some songs quaint or even corny, but they’ll leave understanding how music embodies and defines a particular moment in time.
Wendy Bennett
Wendy not only has directed children's choirs, drama troops and preschool, but she also has her BFA in Music Education from Miami University and is a graduate of the Alliance Theater Acting Intern Program which makes her super qualified to bring curriculum based programming to your school.
She has toured her shows with Young Audiences for the past 20 years and currently sings with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for its children's concerts Symphony Street and various other family concerts. (You can see her in the upcoming Halloween Concert with the ASO!)
Wendy uses her lovely voice, puppets, colorful props and guitar to bring memorable workshop type performances to your students. Book one of Wendy's programs to enhance your curriculum on many grade levels and make learning fun!
