Larry shows students how to make photographic images without a camera. He begins with a variety of visual exercises designed to stimulate students’ imaginations, then teaches them how to design, expose and process light-sensitive papers similar to the cyanotype method used by English botanist Anna Atkins in the 1840’s. Pair this workshop and Larry’s lecture demonstration “Step Inside a 16th Century Camera” to enhance units in science, social studies or visual arts.
