Students love to write their own song lyrics expressing their ideas and feelings. Mr. Eric, a national award-winning songwriter and recording artist, takes his emerging artists step-by-step through the songwriting process beginning with the three fundamentals: imagery, rhyme and meter. Next comes brainstorming, where students generate a free flow of ideas, followed by idea-mapping, where they structure and refine their ideas. Finally, they share the excitement, passion and pride of singing their collaboratively written song together.
