Join Barry and partner Diany Rodriguez on a creative, historical journey detailing the early European explorations of North America – through the experience of both the westward explorers and the Native Americans who greeted them. Through a variety of interactive theatre strategies, the audience will gain insight into important historical encounters, including Columbus' pivotal audience with Isabella and Ferdinand, his October 12, 1492 landing among the Taino, the meeting of Jacques Cartier and the Huron villagers in what is now Canada, and the interactions of Henry Hudson's expedition among the Mahicans. Finally, students will be engaged to reflect upon the ethics and justice of these essential episodes of world history.
Add on a workshop to your assembly performance for $70 (1 person) or $105 (2 people).
