For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction—even in stories. The principle of cause and effect is aptly illustrated in add-on, circular and chain reaction stories plus the unexpected appearance of Rube Goldberg demonstrating one of his improbable inventions. In other words: irresistible stories will cause sustained student attention and plenty of smiles.
Georgia Performance Standards:
- ELA2R4k - The student identifies and infers cause-and-effect relationships. ELA5R1d - The student relates a literary work to information about its setting (historically or culturally).
