Mapping and More Workshop | Gregor Turk
|
Geography and the arts intersect in this exploration of the visual and conceptual components of mapping. Students collectively map a specific geographic area using a variety of two and three dimensional media. For elementary students, the workshops enhance their understanding of symbols and cardinal directions. Older students will concentrate on the artistic elements of scale and proportion as they increase their understanding of different types of maps and their uses.
