Two actors use quick character changes, costumes, props and puppets to recreate Robert Browning’s narrative poem. The story, based on an actual event, is retold with audience members assuming the roles of the town council members who must decide how to rid the town of its rat problem. As they wrestle with how to hire and pay the Pied Piper, they learn that all choices have consequences. Telling the truth, keeping promises, and honoring commitments are important lessons everyone must learn.
