Based on the popular historical novel by Patricia Beatty, 12-year-old Hannalee Reed recalls the charge of treason leveled against her family and 400 other Roswell mill workers during the Civil War. Accused of making cloth for Confederate uniforms, the workers were shipped to Louisville, Kentucky as prisoners of war. As students will learn, during wartime, no one—not even a courageous young girl—can remain untouched or uninvolved.
